Getting involved in the biggest and best National Careers Week yet

This National Careers Week, CareersInc are joining in with the celebrations and raising awareness of the importance of schools providing impartial, careers, information advice and guidance, by calling on them to take full advantage of the free Government careers resources available.
CareersInc, who provides impartial careers information, advice and guidance to young people within schools to support them in choosing their next steps in their career journey, are championing the theme of this year’s National Careers Week, which has a key focus on the Gatsby Benchmarks.
Gatsby Benchmarks are a framework of eight guidelines about what makes the best careers provision in schools and colleges. These guidelines are so important because they provide students with the best possible careers education, information, advice and guidance which enable schools to create a strong career guidance programme for every individual.
With so many options for the younger generation to consider, National Careers Week is a great time to showcase the different paths and the careers available, which is what CareersInc are passionate about.
The Apprenticeship Route
Apprenticeships are a great alternative to college and/or university, and can help students enter into careers in the likes of retail, construction, marketing, engineering, business administration, management roles and more. In 2018 65% of Apprentices remained in full -time employment with the same employer after completing their Apprenticeship programme.
The Higher Education Route
In 2018-19, for the first time ever in the UK, over half of 17-30 years olds enrolled on to a course at university. Young people are seeing the benefits of higher education and how it will help them to climb the career ladder.
Training via the military
Students may take a completely different approach to their career journey. In fact in 2019, 30% of the intake for the British Army were under 18s. Joining the armed forces is another exciting opportunity for students to consider after leaving school.
CareersInc aims to provide impartial advice and guidance to every individual, to help them achieve their career goals, no matter how big or small.
